A Green Power certified switch is a wireless switch that does not require a battery to operate. There are several differences between a Green Power switch and a "conventional" (battery operated) wireless switch.
- A Green Power switch has a button on the back of the switch, unlike battery operated switches.
- A Green Power switch has no LEDs on its button, unlike most battery operated switches.
Finally, on the back of the Green Power switches, there is a pictogram indicating that it is Green Power. This pictogram consists of the initials GP inside a square with waves represented in the upper left corner.
